Rhododendron Dwarf Blue Diamond


Rhododendron Blue Diamond. A dwarf, small leaved hybrid with clusters of funnel-shaped, violet-blue coloured flowers in mid and late spring. Max Height 1.5m. Max Spread 1.5m. Flowers April to May. A highly attractive specimen ideal for border plantings.



Plant in moist acidic well drained soil. Partial shade, Hardy. Provide a winter mulch for added protection.


General Rhododendron Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Remove the pot, if the Rhododendron is well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Rhododendron and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Rhododendron is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
