Verbascum Dark Eyes

 

Rosettes of slightly downy blue green foliage from which emerge flower spikes bearing tight clusters of pale primrose flowers with dark eyes in late spring. Plant in free draining soil in full sun. Ideal for borders and containers.Fully Hardy. excellent in a pot due to its compact habit, remove spent flower spikes to encourage repeat flowering, easy to grow, prefers a well drained soil in full sun. Height & Spread: 20cm x 30cm.

General Herbaceous & Perennial Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding some planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the area thoroughly.
  • Water regular until established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
