Tiarella Morning Star

 

Clump-forming, herbaceous perennial with attractive deeply lobed, palmate leaves with central purple markings. From spring to late summer, it bears dainty, fluffy, pale-pink flowers on wiry stems. Will reach a height of 0.35m and a spread of 0.2m after 2-5 years.

 

Cool, moist, humus-rich soils are ideal, however it will tolerate most soils. Plant in partial or full shade. Protect from excessive winter wet.

 

General Herbaceous & Perennial Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding some planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the area thoroughly.
  • Water regular until established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
