Polemonium Caer. Stairway To Heaven

 

Compact, spreading, deciduous perennial forming a mound of pinnate leaves with cream-edged, often pink-flushed, mid-green leaflets and small clusters of lightly fragrant, broadly bell-shaped, violet-blue flowers in late spring to early summer. Will reach a height of 0.4m and a spread of 0.45m after 2-5 years.

 

 

Best planted in any fertile, moist but well-drained soil preferably in full sun or partial shade.

 

General Herbaceous & Perennial Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding some planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the area thoroughly.
  • Water regular until established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
