Tomato Shirley

 

One of the most popular varieties for cultivating in cold or slightly heated greenhouses. This early maturing tomato produces heavy crops of excellent quality fruit. Shows excellent disease resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus, Cladosporium ABC and Fusarium. With an open, indeterminate habit, this variety is best grown in growbags as a greenhouse cordon. Height: 200cm. Spread: 50cm.

General Vegetable Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Ensure that the top is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Vegetable and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Vegetable is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
