Broccoli Purple Sprouting


Brassica oleracea var. italica. Hardy, reliable sprouting variety that produces purple shoots in early spring. Add to salads, Beds and borders, Flavouring food and drinks. Will reach a height of 0.45m and a spread of 0.45m after 1-2 years.


Choose a prepared, well-compacted, non-acidic site in sun. Plant in an area vacated by non-brassica crop. Never deprive of water and keep area weed free.


General Vegetable Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Ensure that the top is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Vegetable and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Vegetable is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
