Asparagus Officinalis


Erect, multi-branced stems. Rich green, feathery, almost plume-like, flatened stems.Small, drooping, greenish white flowers. Bright red berries.will reach a height of 1.5m and a spread of 1.5m after 3-8 years.



Plant in neutral or alkaline soil, and acid soils should have lime added. Full Sun.


General Herb Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if the Herb is well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Herb and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Herb is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
