Parsley Plain Leaf

 

Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum, Flat-leaved parsley, Italian parsley, Plain-leaved parsley, Petroselinum crispum 'Italian', French parsley. Biennial herb with strongly aromatic, dark-green flat leaves, and small yellow-green flowers in summer.Will reach a height of 0.5m and a spread of 0.5m after 1-2 years.

 

 

Plant in fertile, moist, but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Normally grown as an annual. It can be overwintered although leaves become coarser in the second year.

 

General Herb Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if the Herb is well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Herb and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Herb is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
