Origanum vulgare Country Cream


Ornamental oregano. Bushy, herbaceous perennial that has green and cream variegated leaves and pale pink flowers in summer. In winter the leaves are tinged pink. Add to salads, Beds and borders, Containers, Cottage/Informal, Flavouring food and drinks, Mediterranean, Rock, Wildflower, Wildlife. Will reach a height of 0.4m and a spread of 0.4m after 2-5 years.



Plant in free-draining soil in a sunny postion.


General Herb Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if the Herb is well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Herb and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Herb is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
