Marjoram Compactum, (Origanum vulgare Compactum)

 

Deciduous dense, compact, dome-forming, woody-based, herbaceous perennial with small, ovate, aromatic, dark green leaves and small terminal clusters of tubular, pale pink flowers from midsummer to early autumn. Add to salads, Flavouring food and drinks. height of 0.15m and a spread of 0.3m after 2-5 years.

 

Plant in free draining soil or compost

 

General Herb Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if the Herb is well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Herb and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Herb is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
