Helichrysum Italicum


Curry plant, Helichrysum angustifolium. Small, bushy, evergreen sub-shrub with linear, silver-grey, aromatic leaves and clusters of small, yellow flowers in summer. Uses include Beds and borders, Containers, Gravel, Ground Cover, Low Maintenance, Mediterranean, Rock. Will reach a height of 0.5m and a spread of 1m after 2-5 years.



Plant in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil in full sun. Protect from winter wet and cold, drying winds.


General Herb Planting and care

  • Water the pot thoroughly and allow to drain fully.
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base. Adding a bucketful of planting compost.
  • Remove the pot gently, if the Herb is well rooted cut off the pot.
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in, water the Herb and area thoroughly
  • Water regular until Herb is established.
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring.
