Lonicera periclymenum Serotina


Lonicera periclymenum Serotina, Late Dutch Honeysuckle. A twining fast growing deciduous climber with mid-green leaves and very fragrant creamy white flowers streaked dark purple-red. Makes an attractive wall climber. Max Height 7m. Flowers May to June. Fruits July.

Plant in most well drained soil types. Full Sun / Partial Shade, Hardy.


General Climber Planting and care

  • Water the Climber thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Climber is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Climber and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
