Clematis 'Hagley Hybrid'

 

Clematis Hagley Hybrid. Fast growing late large flowered deciduous climber with single boat shaped satin pink flowers, red coloured anthers. Hagley Hybrid Fades in full sun. Reaching a Max Height 2m and a Max Spread 1m. Flowers June to September. Ideal for climbing walls, trellis, pillars, archways or to scramble through trees and shrubs.

 

 

Plant in fertile well drained but not to dry soil. Partial shade, Hardy. Cut back in spring to just above ground level.

 

General Climber Planting and care

  • Water the Climber thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Climber is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Climber and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
