Attractive dwarf bamboo, vigorous grower with lush dark green foliage. The invasive nature of this bamboo can be a nuisance however if this is not a concern and if allowed to spread as ground cover this bamboo will do that job spectacularly well, you will not be disappointed. Ideally suited in pots and containers, as a low hedge, ground cover or border plant. This bamboo is very hardy and in particularly cold winters the bleaching of the leaf tips create a variegation appearance. Max Height 1 Meter.



Plant in moist well drained soil. Full sun / partial shade, Hardy.


General Bamboo Planting and care

  • Water the Bamboo thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Bamboo is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Bamboo and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
