Thyme Bressingham Pink

 

Mat-forming, woody-based, evergreen perennial or subshrub with tiny, aromatic, oval to elliptic, hairy, grey-green leaves and tiny, tubular, pink flowers in summer. Will reach a height of 0.1m and a spread of 0.3m after 5-10 years.

 

 

Grow in moist, alkaline or neutral, well-drained soil in full sun. Will not tolerate wet, waterlogged conditions, particularly in winter. Tolerates drought and poor soils.

 

General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
