Sedum kamtschaticum Variegatum


Small, semi-evergreen perennial with succulent, obovate, sometimes pink-tinted, green leaves with wavy margins marked in cream. In late-summer, it bears clusters of deep-yellow, star-shaped flowers that emerge from pink buds. Will reach a height of 0.1m and a spread of 0.5m after 2-5 years.


Plant in moderately fertile, well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil in full sun.


General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
