Saxifraga Fleece


Produces a mass of small white flowers in early spring against its mound forming emerald-green coloured foliage. Ideal for a small alpine border or rockery. A hardy plant which should survive normal winter conditions outside, especially if protected from the hardest frosts. Height x Spread / Trail: 10 x 30 cm

General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
