Saxifraga Early Pink

 

A low growing, spreading evergreen perennial with dark green foliage. Covered in a profusion of pink cup-shaped flowers in the late spring. Great choice for a rock garden, edging the border, walls and crevices or in Container. Height & Spread 12 inches.

 

Plant in moist well-drained soil. Feed in spring with an all purpose fertilizer prior to new growth. Cut back spent flowers to promote new blossoms. Divide plants in spring to promote vigorous growth.

 

General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
