Primula den.Corolla Blue

 

A rosette-forming, herbaceous perennial with oblong, spoon-shaped, green leaves, and stout stems bearing dense, rounded clusters of blue flowers in spring. Will reach a height of 0.3m and a spread of 0.15m after 2-5 years.

 

 

Plant in deep, moist but well-drained neutral to acid, humus-rich soil in full sun or part shade.

 

General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
