Erodium Bishops Form

 

Compact, mat-forming alpine perennial with dark green, lobed leaves and deep pink, cup-shaped flowers with dark veins from late spring to early autumn. Will reach a height of 0.05m and a spread of 0.45m after 2-5 years.

 

Plant in moderately well-drained, fertile soil in full sun. Tolerates partial shade.

 

General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
