Dianthus Night Star

 

Unique dark Cherry flowers with light pink serrated edges as well as markings on the petals.Excellent for border edges, rockeries, paving or in containers with Campanulas, alpine Phlox, Sempervivums or Pratias. Height x Spread: 10 x 30 cm

 

 

Prefers full sun, or partial shade with free-draining ordinary or lime/chalky soil or compost.

 

General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
