Arabis cauc. White

 

Widely planted in rock gardens, this low-growing perennial forms a low, even cushion of evergreen leaves. An excellent groundcover for slopes or sunny, dry areas. It is fairly drought tolerant once it is established. In mid-spring, vibrant white blossoms cover every inch of the foliage. Height: 4-6 Inches Spread: 10-12 Inches.

General Alpine Planting and care

  • Water the Alpine thoroughly and allow to drain fully
  • If the Alpine is being planted in a lawn remove a circle of turf
  • Dig a hole twice the size of the pot being planted and fork over the base Adding a bucketful of planting compost
  • Remove the pot gently, if the tree is well rooted cut off the pot
  • Ensure that the top of the Root ball is level with the surrounding soil
  • Replace the remaining soil and heel in well
  • Water the Alpine and area thoroughly, then again at least once a week during the first growing season
  • Apply some general fertiliser every spring
